A positive correlation was observed between serum level concentration of vitamin D and the score of the mini-mental examination. Patients with a higher level of vitamin D had lower activity of polyarthritis. Vitamin D was found to be statistically significant in reducing the risk of falls and preventing fractures. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with a metabolic syndrome in morbidly obese patients. Low levels of vitamin D were found to be associated with an increased risk of rectal cancer.
